Great to have access to golf simulators in Charleswood, love what hackers and smackers has done with the place. Cool spot and family owned - will be my go-to spot from now on
I went to Hackers today at 3:30 pm - a beautiful July afternoon on a Tuesday. Only one car on the lot. As I was parking my car the other car (now known to be an employee) exited the lot and the adult male driver exited the vehicle, pulled the fenced gate closed, and began locking it with a chain from the outside, effectively locking me in the parking lot. I called to the male, and asked if he was closing, and he yelled, "yes, you're getting locked in, that's what I said." Bewildered and confused, I quickly got back in my car and pulled up to the gate, at which time the male angrily removed the chain, and pulled the gate open so I could pull my car out. Prior to leaving I stopped to talk to the employee to make sure I understood what had just happened. I re-capped for him that I had just pulled in, during business hours, on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in July to give him some business. Per his comment, as I drove through the gate with my windows up and radio on, he was somewhere on the property and said to my moving vehicle, "You're getting locked in." Then, before I had even turned off my engine, and with no further attempt to communicate with me, he pulled his vehicle out and began locking the gate with a chain - locking me inside the lot, presumably until he opened for business the next day. As I recapped our interaction he agreed with my summary but continued attempting to lock the gate without making any eye contact, or offering an apology of any sort. The only response offered was, "with a south wind balls will be all over Wilkes, no way I am letting people hit out there today." At this point I realized that as a good corporate citizen, Hackers & Smackers employs elderly, mentally challenged individuals. Although I commend Hackers for providing meaningful work for people with disabilities, I would suggest that they devote some time in their employee onboarding to ensure that all employees understand that the gate should not be closed and locked for the day while customers remain in the parking lot.
Was able to enjoy this place last week. Not busy at all which I truly Like. Able to enjoy the weather and just have fun. Prices were reasonable but because of the wind wasn’t able to use the driver that day. But overall it’s a nice place.
