First time playing here and the course absolutely humbled me—but in the best way. Even though I shot one of my worst rounds of the year, I can’t fault the conditions: fairways were pristine, greens were rolling true, and the layout is no joke with plenty of doglegs to keep you on your toes. It’s definitely a course that rewards local knowledge. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and having two cart girls out at once was very convenient. I’d definitely tee it up here again if I’m back in the area.
Played: Holiday. July 4th. Early morning round. Paid $99. 1. Course Layout: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) The course features a fair amount of hazards and water, but lacks standout holes or exciting moments. It’s not bad at all—just not particularly memorable or challenging. A solid, middle-of-the-road design. 2. Course Condition: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Overall course maintenance was good. Greens were rolling well, tee boxes were in nice shape, and the rough around the greens was trimmed tight. Nothing exceptional, but everything was in good playing condition. 3. Value for Money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) For a holiday morning tee time at $99, this was a fantastic deal. Given the quality and pace of play, it’s hard to beat the value. 4. Clubhouse & Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5) The clubhouse is well-kept and the service was impressive. Marshals were highly active and very friendly—checking in with players and keeping the pace moving. Great experience, especially for a holiday morning. 5. Pace of Play: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Surprisingly smooth for a holiday morning. No delays, and marshals ensured everything moved efficiently. A rare and welcome experience. 6. Practice Facility: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) The practice area looked excellent, with a full driving range, putting green, and chipping area. Even though there wasn’t time to warm up today, the facilities were clearly well-designed and maintained. 7. Scenery & Atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) This is where the course falls short. The surroundings are fairly plain. There’s little in the way of scenic beauty or natural charm. Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.4/5) Summary: White Clay Creek Country Club delivers excellent value, solid conditions, and top-tier service—especially impressive on a busy holiday morning. While the course layout and scenery may not leave a lasting impression, the overall experience is smooth, well-organized, and satisfying. Great practice facilities and attentive marshals elevate the round even more.
Let’s talk about check in and how weird it was - I check in, ask the guy - should I drive a cart back to my car or just walk by golf bag down to the cart?. He says “no, drop your bag at the front door and someone will bring it around for you so I walk back to my car, get my bag, walk to back to the building but drop it at the front door (would have taken me 30 seconds to just carry it to a golf cart here), then I walk back through the building to where the golf carts are and proceed to wait 5 minutes for a girl to bring my bag around. At this point I tell them I am going to the range and should I just load my bag into my golf cart, kid says “ no, we are super tight with golf carts, she will drive you down to the range”. When we get down to the range I ask her (it’s pretty far from the clubhouse but right next to the 1st tee) “when I am done at the range do you bring me back to the clubhouse to get my golf cart?” And she says “omg I didn’t know you were playing!!?” Long story short, I got there an hour before to practice and they wasted a good 20-25 minutes of my time clowning around. Course is really nice, tough with some long forced carries (short hitters beware) Enjoyed my round but the check in process is hilarious
