Van Cortlandt Park Tennis Courts

Van Cortland Tennis Courts are not really adequate for tennis now. They need to be resurfaced. However they are a perfect venue for Bike 101, a program for teaching children over 6 and adults how to ride a two wheeled bicycle. My grandson (7) learned to ride without training wheels in the two hour session. He was absolutely elated and left full of confidence saying, “I know how ti ride a bike!!!” Bike 101 has sessions all over NYC. I recommend it highly.

Most days its pretty chill. There have been time where Tennis etiquette was not respected.

Great place. While some of it is falling into disrepair, I'm sure the Horace Mann School will come and patch it up soon. It's almost always empty, and in the mornings it is quite quiet and peaceful. During covid they don't have permits so its an inclusive to those who don't have them.
