Within the last couple weeks I have visited the Range and is in almost unusable condition. Only grass left on the tees is crabgrass - roots. I have seen in other reviews the Owner has stated they actively maintain the surfaces with new seeding and irrigation. I see none of this as the tee area nearest the covered hitting area used in the Soring - early Summer is as bad as the forward tee box used now. I see nothing as to new grass being developed anywhere. Seems obvious to me the whole tee box has been utilized fully for the season and best hope is to see grass again in the Soring 2026. I am a punch card holder for the Range for a couple years now. I am not likely to return with these conditions until Soring 2026 maybe. I feel the fees I have been paying are not providing me proper value. I am hoping the Owner takes the negative reviews to heart and implements changes.
I have gone to this range for years. Prior owner knew what he was doing with the sod, balls, and overall facility. Last week I paid $18 to hit off uneven dirt. Zero grass! Try watering and seeding and don’t blame it on the heat. The practice facility is horrible! Save your money and just hit balls at a goat ranch. Won’t be back…..
Great spot for practice. I went through 2 large buckets at 13 dollars a piece, then spent a good hour putting and chipping. Really high quality practice facility. Just be aware that you need to buy something to use their facilities. They will come around and ask if you've paid for balls if you don't have a bucket on you. I understand that they're just trying to make sure people don't take advantage of their putting and chipping area, which they don't charge access for, but going around and asking if people bought something comes off as a mildly rude. Maybe try the honor system or a sign out front on the putting and chipping area that clearly explains the expectations. The man inside when I got there was great, friendly, conversational, the woman however, is the one who asked me if I bought anything. Also kind of weird how they do their punch card system. Usually you'd think okay I buy a bucket I get a punch, when I buy 10 I get 1 free. Here, you have to prepay for 10 buckets and then you get three free? Who wants to prepay for 130 dollars worth of range balls on their first visit? I guess if you plan on coming frequently you'd do it, but incentives for new customers to come back is great too. If I'm wrong about the punch card system, it's because it wasn't explained clearly before ringing me up for over 100 dollars, which I quickly backed away from. I'll be back to practice my game again soon, and who knows, maybe they'll create an incentive system for the smaller spender and infrequent but loyal patrons of the already expensive sport of golf.
