The restaurant had a beautiful view of the golf course and driving range. There is an outside area and inside seating. There is also a full bar. The bloody Mary cocktail was great. The service was excellent. We agreed that we had some of the best onion rings we had as appetizers ever (cooked just right). The Chinese chicken salad was great and all six of us enjoyed the afternoon meal. We were referred to this restaurant by iTrade pay.
New to town, wanted to find a casual restaurant to enjoy and decided to try it out based on the positive reviews. They started out strong with phenomenal onion rings. Unfortunately, my salmon entree and my partners French dip were disappointing and inedible. My salmon tasted off, almost spoiled and had zero seasoning. The rice was also flavorless. I could not eat it and thankfully the waiter took it off the bill without being asked. My partners French dip and fries were room temp at best. It also had barely melted American cheese, which is odd for a French dip. Sadly, we will not return.
Former regular: things have been slipping. We moved to Westbrook Village at the beginning of the year. We quickly discovered and fell in love with The Links. They had great appetizers, terrific burgers and honest drinks at more than fare prices. We were so happy to have a great local hang out practically within walking distance. At one point we were going twice a week, especially on Burger Night (Thursdays) when all their burgers were discounted. Over the past few months things have been slipping and last Thursday was our last visit for a while. The food quality overall has taken the worst hit, smoked wings no longer tasting like they had been smoked, inconsistent cooks on the burgers, fries served cold and half the usual portion, missing condiments on orders, flavorless tacos...... All the while, the owners / managers have been focused on printing new menus, painting the walls and basically putting lipstick on a pig. Without food quality a restaurant is doomed. I have eaten in some disgusting hole-in-the-wall joints that serve the most amazing food with a smile and I regularly return. While upgrading the visual experience is welcome, doing it at the expense of quality food and service is NOT. I always try to give constructive feedback when asked about my experience (I was a restaurant manager for 20 years) but it was usually ignored OR I was effectively gaslit into thinking I was wrong and had to ask other customers what they thought to make sure I wasn't going crazy.
