I was fortunate to play The Keep before the weather got too cool and wet, and it was something special. We came in on a Friday afternoon running late (forgetting the time changes from AL to GA, ha), but the staff was very accommodating to let us out and play our round. The head pro and one of the assistants, "Ta," were both so nice and helpful in guiding us where we needed to go. This course is still new and has some growing left before it reaches its full potential, but by late 2026 or early 2027, I think this course has all the recipes to host a PGA Tour event and even a Major championship. It would be such a beautiful venue to host something. These were some of the trickiest greens we have ever played, so make sure to take a caddie with you. Once they get the clubhouse and driving ranges built, water running, and waterfalls flowing, this place is going to be one for the ages. So lucky to have gotten to play it though. We will certainly be back! Also a special shout out to Deedee, our shuttle driver, for the awesome stories and being a great host!
Giving five stars because this is a SPECTACULAR piece of land and will be one of Georgia’s great golf courses. Stellar vibes, great layout, wonderful hospitality. Greens are lightning quick and firm - super tough but super fun. THIS COURSE IS NOT YET READY FOR THE VOLUME OF PLAY THEY ARE PUTTING ON IT The fairways, tee boxes, and collars are still growing in, yet they are sending the tee sheet out completely full and barraging the course with play. Doesn’t feel much like Preview, but it should be for the conditions the course is in. I would highly struggle to pay full freight (>$400 before caddie!) in peak form, let alone in the rugged conditions it’s currently in. It will grow in, it will be spectacular, but I worry a bit about their lack of foresight
Amazing place! The caddie I had was very helpful and nice and for mid November the conditions were still great. Love coming to Mclemore and this new course makes it that much more special.
