The Guelph Grotto

As a seasoned climber I was visiting this gym as a guest in part of member appreciation day. I only participated in bouldering which was quite enjoyable and challenging as well. There are quite a number of rope climbs as well which looked interesting and I'll certainly give it a try next visit. Facilities are well kept which include Universal washrooms and change rooms. You can bring your own lock and use their lockers. Large enough warmup area with hangboard and separate area for moonboard, Kilterboard, spray wall. As a bonus they have a café but I only drank my own bottle of water. Staff and other climbers very friendly. I remember their staff orientation was very thorough and informative. Highly recommended if you're in Guelph.

Students in our PhysEd Classes look forward to this outstanding program every year at Sacred Heart High School, Walkerton. The Grotto’s staff is amazing! Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable and patient, but they are also very encouraging and supportive of all learners. The safety instructions and demonstrations are super thorough and clear, which puts everyone at ease and sets students up for success. The instructors meet students where they are at and guide them to complete various tasks while respecting their comfort zones. Sam and Dave are amazing people! Year after year, we are thrilled with the leadership development and the cooperative learning it provides our students! The confidence building is remarkable. Great vibes!!! Love the routes they set. They change them often enough you always have something new to do. Indoor bike rack to store your bike while you climb. Also surprisingly good coffee.
