I dined here in on a Sunday afternoon in Feb. Although everyone was not totally happy with their meals, we had a great time, and all 9 went home feeling fine. Why? It was because of our server who was excellent, and she went out of her way, with just one hour to closing, to accommodate us. The kitchen was perhaps in shut down mode which made the wait for the entrees a bit long, and some items were unavailable. Our nice server made the most of the situation. We had appetizers - buffalo wings, crab dip and mac & cheese with braised beef. The first 2 were great, however the dippers for the crab dip were too few for our large group, so we asked our server for some chips. She graciously complied bringing us the best old bay chips - simply delicious with or without the dip. I did not taste the mac mixture bc it sounded weird. Three out of 4 who tried it did not like it. It’s great to go with a big group so you can try new things and share appetizers without filling up too much before your real meal. Most of our entrees were very good according to others in the group. Two people who ordered burgers (photo below) were very happy, and having tasted the sweet potato fries, I can say they were delicious. The crab cake was a generous size and I heard no complaint from, without a doubt, the best cook at the table. The kids meals looked good, and there were no complaints from the 2 picky eaters. Two of us ordered chicken curry (see the photo below). Big mistake - like ordering fessant au glass at a seafood restaurant or pork ribs at a Japanese Steak House. Still the chicken was tender and the broccolis was good. Only the sauce was lacking, hey, but what’s in a name? If I’d never had REAL curry chicken, I wouldn’t have been disappointed, right? One person had steak which looked very good but, was reportedly over cooked. Still if presentation and looks are prime, that dish and all others deserve an A. Desserts were all delicious and reasonably priced from the pecan pie to the ice cream sundaes, and not to forget the delicious cheese cake. Most of us agreed to come back again perhaps for brunch or Sunday dinner but a bit earlier next time. (It seems people really like the photo I took of the tables and chairs (viewed over 18,000 times.) So go check it out, and fill up the seats, won’t you!
In town for Father's day and we walked in. Luckily they had an opening as they usually take reservations. It was buffet option only. The choices were good. The waffles were my favorite, no lie had 7 of them so got my money's worth out of the buffet. They had an omelets station in the back also. Our server Kim was very nice and attentive. They also don't hold the bubbles if you like your mimosas stronger.
Ruben G. is the best bartender! He is so respectful and attentive. He makes the best drinks. Next time you go to the Grove make sure to ask for Ruben
