Played this course recently and was very disappointed . For the cost the course was in poor shape. Mown grass still in fairways, greens burnt and in poor condition. You will definitely need a mouth guard as well while riding on cart paths. Rutted and bumpy along the entire course. For the money I would say go elsewhere.

Updated February 7th, 2023: Played The Pines course again because it's such a great value. We paid $29 to play on a weekday afternoon rate. I like the course and again found it in decent, but not great condition. The fairways are firm, tight and dry so there is plenty of roll. The greens have a nice Bermuda grass texture, are consistent and challenging. Perhaps the worst thing is the cart paths. I'd encourage them to tear up some of the remaining asphalt and go to natural sand. Around the edges can be a bit rough. All that said, I love the 5 closing holes. I think they are very challenging, visually nice, and the best condition of any on the course. I've included photos from the Par 3 #12 and the Par 5 #15. I think #15 is a classic Pinehurst style golf hole as are many on this course. I'd give this course a 3.5 but that's not an option. It certainly gets a 5 for value. ************ Prior Review from May 2022: Played the Pines Course on May 5th. Excellent value and a very challenging layout. However the turf quality is just not there. Very firm and packed with very little green grass just yet. The cart paths are very rough and need paving. The ball rolls well on the greens but there are some daunting slopes. Worth the money but keep your expectations real. It's a bit rough around the edges. The pro shop staff is friendly

I hate to say this about my own home course. Played last weekend. Cost me over $160 to play and they didn't offer a discount if we walked. They also don't honor youth golf. $163 for a golf course that has no working vending machines. No water on the course and in mediocre shape is robbery. Don't golf here. Go to Hyland and at least be offered the ability to purchase a drink or have free water.
