The Bunker Southern Park

We reserved the Lake Club Lounge at The Bunker in Southern Park Mall through Double Bogeys for a family retirement party in April. I can't say enough positive things about our experience. The reservation process and menu selection with Double Bogeys was very smooth and straightforward. We worked with Nancy up front and Lisa on site - both were very friendly and professional. We did a buffet and each of the food options were delicious. They let us bring our own dessert and provided us with plates/utensils. The staff were super friendly and attentive, took down drink orders from us and would bring them directly to us from the bar (no need to wait in line!). Afterwards, they packed up the leftover food in takeout containers instead of throwing it away - loved that. They even added a complimentary cheese platter when we arrived! Again - top notch service that went above and beyond. This was a really quality experience that led to an awesome family event. Note: the Lake Club Lounge is BIG. Our group was about 20 adults and 10 kids. Could have easily fit 2-3x that amount. The room also includes option to use its own golf simulator which was perfect for the kids (they included all kinds of different games including kicking a soccer ball instead of using golf clubs). Reserving the room and golf simulator are separate flat fees (paid to the Bunker, I believe) and the food was standard catering per-person charge (paid to Double Bogeys). It's a partnership and it totally worked for us!

I've been to the bunker several times. Most recently was for my high school reunion in the Lake Room. The catered food which was chicken, pasta, salad, and some sides was decent, but not exceptional. The service wasn't very good at all. I opened a tab at the back bar and got my drinks from there instead of waiting for the waitresses assigned to our party because after an hour I didn't think I'd get service. The service at the Front bar and back bars was good though if you're there.

Reserved the Ryder Cup room for small event. First: Was told room cannot be booked more than a week in advance and when I called to book exactly 1 week out first thing in morning, the room was booked. Gentlemen stated that they say a week, but it's not really a firm request. Being flexible, I booked the next day. Second: Room was available upon arrival as they advised would just be a couple minutes to tidy up from the prior party. The young men working cleared the tables yet left all the garbage in the garbage can in the room. Third: room advertised they were 4 tvs in which there only 3 and only one of them actually was in working order. Fourth: food was good, however, the server ( at no fault of her own )was tasked with serving many other parties which resulted in service being very slow. Basically, there is not a dedicated server to the room in which is extra $$ as it is private Fifth: the young men working were helpful but good luck pulling them away from their own golf game in which they were playing the entire time and not focused on the mess that had accumulated in the open golf bays which was disgusting. For the rate charged, one would think that the service and experience would be as advertised. Sadly it is not. Staff should be identifiable and focused on delivering a best in class experience for your guests. And equipment should be maintained and up to par instead of looking like someone is Robbing Peter to pay Paul In summary, myself or any of my guests will never be back. Book at your own risk.
