Spring Creek is one of the best golf courses near Charlottesville. It is very challenging, the course is long, greens are very fast, and every hole is picturesque. It is private so you will have to play with a member but if you get the chance don't pass it up. As of today, May 2nd, 2025, they also have a brand new fleet of Golf Carts which are fantastic! The food is great, and all the fairways, greens, amd bunkers are emmacualety maintained! 5/5 Star course!
I recently brought my company out to this course for a charity golf tournament and had the worst experience with one of the golf course staff. I didn't catch his last name but his first name was Kevin- middle aged white man. Several of my younger employees do not play golf regularly so they do not own clubs. I have sponsored similar tournaments at other courses over the years and sharing clubs has never been an issue. Kevin said it was club policy for everyone to have their own clubs and I explained to this simple man that we had a set if clubs for each golf cart and we would just share. He proceeded to tell me we couldn't play. I told him I spent thousands of dollars on this one day of golf and we would be playing. He threw a fit and spoke to me in a very condescending way and and one point put his finger on my chest when running his arrogant mouth. At that point we were standing in front of the director of this CHARITY EVENT, and I said we would not be coming back if this is how we would be treated over a simple issue like SHARING CLUBS! Only one person hits the ball at a time so what is the big deal!!! Kevin proceeded to tell me he would be "happy to NOT HAVE MY COMPANY BACK". That means that Kevin cost the Ronald McDonald foundation around $4000 in contributions next year. I really hope the tournament is moved to a new location next year because we will not attend if its at spring creek due to the way Kevin spoke to me and my employees over a trivial issue
We play here once or twice a year, with our member friends, and it's one the best tracks in central Virginia. The clubhouse is very nice with good drinks and food. Always love visiting this course.
