We live right next door and have had so many great experiences at Sandhill Crane. The bartenders are always friendly, and one of the managers has gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. Thank you. We genuinely want to support this course — it’s a beautiful setting and could be such a great community spot. But unfortunately, those good experiences are being undermined by a pattern of inconsistently and unfairly applied rules. Most recently, I was told after playing 9 holes and spending money at the restaurant that I needed a collared shirt — despite being fully covered in a long-sleeve, long pants set, and with no one else on the course. The young staff member even admitted her manager told her to say something. It felt random, petty, and completely unnecessary. Not a single other woman on the course that day was wearing a collared shirt — it felt like I was being singled out for no reason, but after reading the reviews it seems other women have had this issue as well. If there is a strict dress code on this PUBLIC course, it should be enforced consistently — not at random, not halfway through a round, and certainly not after you’ve already spent time and money playing, dining, and supporting the business. This wasn’t the first time. On a previous visit — again, with no one else around — staff told my husband he wasn’t allowed to make small comments on my golf swing, as that was considered “teaching.” We were just trying to enjoy a quiet afternoon together and left feeling nitpicked for no reason. We love this place and want to feel good here, it's our home course — but it’s hard to enjoy a course that makes you feel like you’re doing something wrong every time you show up.

Took 3.5 hours to play 9.5 holes, went inside to ask for a voucher for the 9 holes because it would have been impossible to even play 18 holes before sun down. (We teed off at 1:30) . Play here all the time and will not return, very rude and unprofessional responses. They said we have no control of the pace of play which is a first for me and they we are “ not a private country club”. Will Not be returning, just lost thousands of dollars of business. Avid golfer .

Up until this year one of my favorite courses. $138 for the worse greens of any of the 8 courses I’ve played this winter is ridiculous. Much better conditions for $70 to $130 at other area courses. If the par three Net wasn’t so overpriced I would rather play there. Greens there are better. Maybe it will improve next year, for now I won’t be back.
