Safeway

I wanted to support this store since it’s one of the few options in the area, but our experience was disappointing. Upon entering, we noticed a cashier giving us uncomfortable looks, which we initially brushed off. Unfortunately, we later checked out with the same cashier (Lorene), and the behavior continued. She did not acknowledge us, handled our groceries carelessly by tossing items onto the belt, and avoided interaction with us while chatting with other customers nearby. I chose not to address it at the time, but my husband independently noticed the same behavior, which confirmed our concerns. We understand that everyone can have an off day, but basic courtesy and professionalism are expected in customer service at the very least.

Came in to buy a few items today and one was mislabeled on the shelf. When I went to purchase the wrong price came up, and went to take a picture and clearly it met the description but they said was not the right one. I asked if they could please help find the right one then and was told they didn’t have time for that. I just told her to forget it then and left. I understand when you’re busy but all I asked was if we could find the right one as I did want to purchase, and I thought store associates were there to help? I like the store overall but things like this happen here all too much lately, just frustrating, and not good when you have another grocery store right next door which I went to and asked if they had it and they not only helped me find it but matched Safeways sale price. I have worked in retail so won’t ever be rude to someone but if you won’t help I’ll just go somewhere else as it just isn’t worth the hassle and apparently here that’s starting to be the case.

The clerks are not very friendly and have 0 customer service. Not everyone that shops there are thieves nor should they be treated like they are. Love the convince and the location of the store but hate their customer service.
