I have gone to Ryan this year not only for lessons (studio and at FGC), but for shortening clubs, regripping clubs, and adjusting the lie angle on a set of clubs. Lessons - Ryan has the patience of a saint. I started out topping the ball, hooking or slicing the ball, generally hitting off the heel side of the club. We fixed all of that, now we are working on other stuff. My best rounds this year are 8 to 10 strokes lower than last year. So definitely impressed with the results thus far. Shortening clubs - My irons were too long for me, so Ryan cut them done and they worked a heck of a lot better afterwards. Excellent work and attention to detail. Regripping clubs - Because we had to take the grips off to shorten the clubs, he ended up regripping. 5/5 here, the grips lined up perfect, no corners cut he is using product from GolfWorks to do all his regripping, quality products. Adjusting lie angle - Bought a set of clubs brand new from a major manufacturer that were supposed to come 2 degrees upright. Long story short, they didn't. Ryan fixed that as well. So definitely 5 stars across the board for all his work!
I’ve been working with Ryan for the last 6 months, and it has been a great experience. He is very knowledgeable, kind and patient with his delivery of instruction! He is flexible with his schedule and helped shave strokes off my game which continues to motivate me to be better. On top of instructing my game he has been a great help with regripping clubs and other supportive services to the game. Thank you Ryan.
The owner of this business has created a new page on google to hide previously made reviews on his services. I am providing this review to ensure that whoever is reading, will do their own research before going to Ryan Kingston Golf for club building services I brought him a set of ping i525's to be reshafted. He did not know what he was doing, yet still proceeded, resulting in my irons being damaged. He used "homemade" improper shims, grinded down and reamed the hosels because he believed the shafts did not fit (I provided .355 taper tip shafts, will fit fine if properly done, he continued to say they wouldnt fit, even after he made the mistakes), told me no damage was done to the clubs when you can clearly see the finish and hosels are permanently damaged in the images. He refused to replace with a set identical to what they looked like before, claiming that they could have never looked perfect because the shafts did not fit. The last image (all black ferrule) is one of the clubs I did not give him of the same set. Probably a great instructor, but do not trust him with your clubs. Lesson learned The owner of this business threatened me with legal action following this review, and blocked me from further contacting him
