Royal Oaks Golf Club

Very disappointed with our experience at royal oaks… treated us so poorly we decided to leave halfway through our round. Constant harassment from the marshals that we weren’t keeping up with pace meanwhile we were being cautious of the people infront of us. To be told we were supposed to tee off 2/3 minutes ago when the group in front of us were 150-200 yards away is just completely ridiculous. There should be more signs indicating where you can and cannot drive the carts. For the amount of money you pay to play they treat you like peasants. I will gladly be taking my money elsewhere as someone who golfs 7 days a week I have never experienced such a horrible round of golf.

The nicest course I played in the area. The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers & greens were all top notch. A lot of courses in the area are shorted and this one offers some real length and challenge. The tee shorts aren't overly demanding but the shots around the green need some precision. Loved playing here and I'll definitely be back.

Royal Oaks has the potential to be a great course, but falls quite short. Let’s start with the positives… - Clubhouse/bar/starter staff are incredible. They provide excellent service and truly care about your experience. - The clubhouse itself is stunning. Has loads of potential! Having the canteen outside is brilliant, same with the washrooms. - Parking is easy. There’s no bad parking spots and no concerns about a stray ball. - The Bev cart accepts card. Now the negatives… - The geese. Holy moly they are everywhere! They aren’t aggressive but they are making a mess. The greenskeepers have either given up on cleaning it or can’t keep up. - The driving range is a mess. It is horribly hacked apart and there is no sign advising that the back of the driving range is drivable and borders a hole. - The bunkers are a mess. They are full of weeds, and inconsistent. They could use an edging and maintenance around the edge. - The carts are in rough shape and have another course’s label. - Links style doesn’t fit the style of the region.
