Nice course. Really good shape. Easily walkable. Only complaint would be the layout isn’t that interesting. A lot of the holes feel the same. Food at the restaurant afterwards was really good.
Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH is a wonderful public golf facility that offers an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. I recently played the 27-hole course and was impressed by the well-maintained fairways and greens, which provided a great mix of challenge and playability. The course layout is nicely varied with a range of holes set amidst beautiful wooded areas and streams, making it a peaceful yet engaging experience. The staff, especially in the pro shop, was friendly and helpful, offering useful tips that enhanced my game. I appreciated the reasonable pricing — playing nine holes with a cart is a great value, and the pace of play was generally well-managed. The clubhouse and nearby restaurant provide a comfortable place to relax after the round. While some experienced golfers may find the back tees more challenging, the course overall strikes a good balance, making it accessible and fun. The scenic setting combined with the course’s amenities makes Pease a top choice for locals and visitors alike. I highly recommend Pease Golf Course for anyone in the Seacoast region looking for a well-kept, welcoming place to play golf without the crowds of private clubs. I’ll definitely be returning soon to enjoy another round at this gem of a public course.
Having been stationed at Pease Air Force Base from 1983-1985, and having played the course several times, I was excited to return. I have to say that I did not remember or recognize much of the course. They have removed a lot of trees and dried up the swampy area, by the looks. The course was in excellent shape and forgiving. It felt like it played short from the white tees. I say this because my drives were not always good but I was almost always able to hit my approach shots on or near the green... in a good solid rain. The staff was friendly and I found the price reasonable. I will definitely be back when the sun is out!
