Food was great and filling. The service was good but not especially talkative. We went on Valentine’s Day, so it was very busy. Feels like your typical pub. Feel like it would be fun for a night out, later in the night, not just dinner.
Good food, main menu was not labelled with gluten free options but their wing menu was. Wings are gluten free with a separate fryer and a bunch of gf sauces. Ordered the surfer girl wings, a little bland. Server made sure kitchen was aware of celiac gluten allergy. The host (possibly the owner) knew more information than the server we had, they had to ask other workers to find out stuff.
Made a reservation on their web site which was seamless, arrived on time and the staff could not find our reservation, after oh here it is (10 min later) we were seated at our table. Having been in the restaurant business for many years I always look at what is going on around me. First thing I noticed was a server at the POS terminal having some difficulty, had to call other staff to help him. Not a problem, that's how it should work. But then he was our server and approached the table after we sat for 10 plus minutes to advise us he would be a few more minutes. Ok, at least we were acknowledged as being there. Meanwhile other tables were seated and were being severed by other servers. Again my past in the industry notices these things! By the time our server returned we had decided on our drinks and meals and gave him our full order. He seamed flustered at best and began to tell us it was his first day and without us asking any questions told us he had never eaten here and did not know about the drinks or food. Hmmm I thought, lets see how this goes. Brings my wife her drink and tells me he is still looking for the beer I ordered, comes back a few minutes later with a beer I did not order but at this point it was good enough. (sorry this is a detailed review) Our reservation was for 5:30 we had a show booked next door for 7:30 which we thought was more than enough time for dinner and drinks. We had our dinner order in and drinks were served before 6 o'clock, good to go. Our server did return to the table to ask about additional drinks, which we ordered from him. During this time tables that had come in after us had been served drinks and their food, ok alarms going off! Asked our server about our meals as it was going on 7o'clock. He said let me check with the kitchen, returned a few minutes later to tell us that our meals had not been started yet. All I could say was REALLY. Our show was in 30 min and we were not going to eat after our order was supposed to have been put in an hour ago. Well the server (not using his name) answered, we could get it to go for you or I can cancel the order. Cancel it I said we do not have time now to eat it once it get's here. Long story short (which this review is not) asked to speak with a manager. While waiting for that a table behind us that had our server walked out as their meal was not coming any time soon. Spoke with the manager on duty and explained to him all of the above. He graciously offered us a gift certificate for all the inconvenience. Hope some lessons were learned about staff training with the management at the Moose. Sorry again for the long review, but hope it helps future guests and again management to prevent these situations from happening again. P.S grabbed a quick pizza across the road and made our concert just missing the open song!
Went three Wednesday's in a row for the all you can eat wings. Absolutely love the Tony Soprano wing flavor. I kinda gotta take a break now because I feel that I have eaten too many wings, haha. Would recommend going to the Mooses for all you can eat wings on Wednesdays
Always the greatest wings in the world. And all the other stuff is good also. Great selection of beer on tap. The staff are the greatest also, and shoe their experiance. Ihave been going there for 30 years now, and i have never been dissapointed.
