Links At Redstone

A Lurker! I've always heard army golf, an expression for someone who hits to the left and to the right and to the left and to the right, but when you come out to the links at Redstone it doesn't matter where you go, the grass is well maintained and the greens are fast. It's true that the right side of the fairway seems to have extended and well-mannicured feather beds for the member of your foursome that likes to swing too hard, but who doesn't mind playing from the edges? There are two courses, and they are completely of different character. The course to the West, The Patriot, plays like traditional course with mild elevation changes and dog legs and tree lined fairways. The course to the east, the warrior, is more of a links style course with rolling hills and mild topography; don't let that lull you into a false sense of complacency, because they also let the grass grow long in between the fairways. The pro shop is well stocked and the employees are friendly. I haven't eaten at the grill, but I plan to. The prices are better than fair and we're lucky to have it here in Huntsville. You'll have to figure out a way to get on the base.

The Warrior course is phenomenal. You must have the ability to access a military installation but if you do this is a must play course. Esthetically awesome and just the right amount of difficulty. Prices are super affordable and the course is comparable to some private clubs. Give it a shot.

Great place. Two 18 hole courses and good practice area with driving range putting and separate chipping green. Practice bunker as well with its own green. Have to have acres to Redstone Arsenal Army base though.
