I recently played Lake St George, North Granite Ridge and Muskoka Highlands during a buddies trip in Muskoka. Lake St George is a 27 hole layout. We played the West-South combo. I believe the North course is usually played by golfers booking a 9 hole round. The course is quite scenic with a good variety of holes. There are a few blind shots, so prior experience is helpful. The course is in very good shape. The greens were superb, putted true and were moderately fast. We paid $77 for 18 holes with cart, including HST. I thought that was very good value. I would highly recommend Lake St George if you are looking for a mid-tier Muskoka golf course. There are a couple of negatives. The course has a lot of bunkers, some of them fairly large. Somehow, I managed to avoid them. They look to be well maintained, but curiously, there is not a single rake on the golf course. One of my buddies ended up in a deep footprint. He just moved the ball elsewhere in the trap. I can imagine the course would need a lot of rakes, so perhaps they should provide one on each cart. Off the tee the course would be quite walkable, but the layout is quite convoluted, with multiple long treks from the green to the next tee. Because of this, you really need to ride around this course.
We had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful golf course this past weekend. We had a group booking, that was handled by Kendall. She went above and beyond to ensure we had the timing we wanted for the Friday and also got us a tee time for Saturday on a very busy weekend. Everyone there was a pleasure to deal with and Kendall really made sure we were looked after. Also thanks to everyone else there for making the experience spectacular. Looks like we found our " golf spot" for our annual trip with the hockey boys. Thank you!
Have good times playing 9 with my in-laws. I had the audacity to want to try and finally play their 18 as a solo. All this week it's sparsely booked, the odd 4some. Yet I am not allowed to book. I even called to book. I have never seen this on any course..busy times guaranteed to fill up, sure, they won't let you book on an empty slot unless you call. But not a "you're screwed if you're alone and we don't have a 2 or 3some already there". I see from a review 2 years ago there was the same experience, not to mention the horror stories, so I see they're not interesting in improvement to customer satisfaction. Very disappointing.
