Lake Mills Golf Club

Golfed here yesterday, I'm a beginner golfer so the condition of the course doesn't matter much to me, i still had fun, the course was in okay shape for the price. When we got into the golf cart the key immediately broke with the slightest pressure. The person behind the counter told us the keys have been breaking a lot lately, so the owner asked the employees to start charging the customers for the broken keys. I think charging the customers instead of getting stronger keys is a poor business decision. I would understand if people are being rough with them, but if it happens this much it is a problem with the keys, not the customer. We didn't want to cause any issues so we just paid for the key and golfed. As the owner of a "mom and pop" business myself, it bothers me to see other businesses push their problems onto consumers instead of taking the loss, learning, and correcting their mistakes. Overall I had fun, price was fair, and will likely return. But this was disappointing to see and I wanted to share this experience. I hope the owners take this perspective into consideration. Edit: You assumed we miss-used the keys, we did not force anything, we used the key the exact same way as we used the replacement. You and your staff are familiar with those specific keys, the general public is not. My suggestion to improve your system still stands, and I will let your response to my review stand out as an example of how you choose to stand in your practices instead of gracefully accept criticism.

The course is well maintained, welcoming, and most of all fun. I will definitely be hitting these links again soon. I've read the negative reviews and can confidently say they don't accurately represent this course.

Well, it’s golf. The greens are tiny, the tee boxes super uneven, and hole #8 is perhaps the dumbest hole in southern Wisconsin (a reverse dog-log leg that requires a wedge off the tee).
