Came to VT for a wedding and had to bring my sticks, super glad I did! Jay Peak is a intimidating looking course. Narrow forest lined fairways that feel like you are climbing a mountain! Don't let that stop you, it is a super fun course. I got a 7am tee time, which made it a beautiful round. The fairways and boxes are in great shape. The greens were firm and fast. But they hold. A couple shots I did not get as much loft as I wanted and thought they would be over, but they held. I thought it was a great deal for the quality of golf! Clubhouse was nice and the guy was friendly. I highly recommend this course!
Great challenge, beautiful landscape and well-maintained golf course. I would like to give a thumbs-up to the ladies that bring some life and joy to the season (I was told that it is two sisters). Every holes I was searching for the little ones.
Good conditions in August of 2025. Despite 90 degree temps the week prior, the whole course, even downslopes were soft and spongey. Some dried mud patches at the low area. Tees could have some turf maintenance. I have a feeling they need to work on drainage or ensuring areas are not overwated in hot weather. Onto the good! Staff was extremely friendly and happy to accommodate us on the golf package. We played 3.5 rounds here over 2 days. The starter was really nice. Despite wider fairways than some in Vermont, many fairways are sloped so it is important to not just hit the fairway but hit the correct part of the fairway. Holes are on the long side, so you must be accurate with driver. I found myself laying up on some par 4's that were fronted by Jay Brook and some intimidating brush. Great layout. Downhill holes on the back 9 are spectacular but on 15 and 18 it is imperative to hit the proper part of the fairway. 18 being CPO was extremely frustrating at the end of a long round. I did find the fescue to be so well watered it just ate balls rather than watching balls take the slope on hillsides, etc. The greens were wrll maintained and rolled true. On the slower side. I think $125 weekend mid season with ample divots and spongey turf is pricey for the conditions, but for the price of unlimited golf and a hotel stay it is actually a great deal. Course just needs some agronomy tlc and I am sure it is challenging to keep a course that far north in shape. The folks in the restaurant are great. Hannah and Rita were very friendly. Bartender and chef as well. Smashburgers with sis boom sauce are juicy and really good. Nachos are a solid choice. I believe the Clubhouse Grille/Sis Boom is the best restaurant at Jay (certainly my favorite). Don't sleep on the hot dogs.
