Grandote Peaks Golf Course and Country Club

This course is superb, a really special place. Played October 2025, conditions were top notch. This Weiskopf/Morrish track has been rehabbed by new owners after sitting closed for a decade. Course was empty, I guess the word hasn't got out how good this place is. It's in great shape, Tons of fun. Rippling fairways, interesting bunkers, fun strategic opportunities. Front nine hops over the stream several times, back nine climbs a hill then descends. Favorite holes were 8, a par five that doglegs sharp left over the stream. 12 an uphill par four that peaks and descends at the end to the green. 14 par five from elevated tee, super cool green complex. 16 jumps a small pond to neat green. Killer views of surrounding mountains on every hole. Worth traveling here, cool little town of La Veta. Will come again

Beautiful views and a challenging course, some nice elevated tee-boxes are inviting to drive deep, but the long grass will devour anything off-line. Greens were rolling nice but had to navigate deer droppings. Came through on a random off-season day and had the course to myself. Staff was friendly and helpful, really enjoyable round.

Living nearby, Grandote is a little gem! I was impressed at how well the greenskeeper maintains. Kudos to him! It was such a fun and challenging course. Views could not be better. Was happy for a bit of a change from Cattails, which I play nearly every day. The restaurant staff/pro shop were great. Dinner menu could use a tad more variety, understand they are remote, and its a bit more complicated for deliveries since everything is far away. I didn't order an entray. Decided on a couple of apps, then we ate when we got back. But, my lemon drip martini and margarita were tasty. We ordered chicken wings and crabcakes. I expected frozen, but they were not. They were very, very good, I will order them again.
