Customer Reviews
Customer service and attention wise: it was great. But execution of the idea was a 0 of 5. I was torn about writing this review because I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus, but felt like it was necessary in order for other people to see what the results were. Went in to get a personalized stamping (Best Baba Ever) on this wedge as a birthday gift to my dad (Baba). Had a putter as well but it was determined that it couldn’t be stamped (which I was thankful for later). The dude was great about showing me the stamps and other options and talking about where to put the engraving. As he was stamping the club, there were a couple moments of ‘it moved on me’ ‘I’m going to make that one deeper’ and when I saw the finished product, it left me pretty speechless. He assured me it was all good and after the paint was added it wouldn’t be that noticeable. But, obviously, it’s a disaster. The guy said, ‘this one’s on me’, which was cool because paying for this is not something I would have felt great about. Walking out of the store and looking at the club again just made me feel bummed. I was really looking forward to giving my dad a personalized gift that he would treasure. But instead we had to apologize when we gave it to him, knowing that there couldn’t be anything done about it. I guess this is fair warning for anyone wanting an engraving done and also a reminder to the employees of golf galaxy that this stuff matters a lot. These stampings should be taken seriously and not rushed.
I got fitted for my irons with Cody J Quinn, what an amazing experience and a great knowledgeable person. I walked away feeling confident in my purchase and the experience. I would recommend him to anyone especially if you’re considering getting fitted. He is their Pro at the store and has a vast knowledge of what you need in a club to help maximize your swing! 10/10 will be going back for wedges and woods with him!
Went into the Milford store on 10/2/25 to investigate the value of “tweaking” my putter via a putter fitting. Unfortunately the machine was down so I couldn’t be computer optimized. Instead, Jon spent a considerable amount of time watching my stroke and providing different putter options. Shortly thereafter the in-store pro (Michell) and Cody came over to assist. They all watched me hit putts for about 20 minutes. Mitchell and Cody offered suggestions on my stroke and Mitchell then explained that I was an arc putter vs a straight back/forward guy and that I’d benefit from a putter with a flatter lie, a little more loft and an inch longer than my existing putter. They offered to adjust and lengthen my existing putter and put zero pressure on me to go with a new putter. After hitting some more putts, I decided to get a new Ping Anser 4 Scottsdale blade manually tweaked for me. To conclude the session, Jon told me to play a few rounds with the new blade and come back to the store for computer measurements when the machine was fixed to optimize the fitting. I’m 63 years old and have bought a lot of things in my life and this was a top 3 experience as a customer. I will update this review after I go back to the store for computer measurement. Thank you Jon, Mitchell and Cody - I can’t thank you guys enough! (P.S. I played with the new putter today and burned at least 5 lips and lag putted better than I have in a long time).
