Derrick is phenomenal. He helped me get fitted for a driver and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Derrick is very professional and was helpful with giving me advice. He also has top tier communication skills and is a people person. Derrick is the “Michael Jordan” of Golf Galaxy. I could not have asked for a better experience. I brought my Scotty Cameron putter in early Monday afternoon for both a standard regrip and the paid grip-saving service. Since no golf associates were available at the time, I was told to leave the club and wait for a call. About an hour later, I received a call saying the regrip was completed—but when I asked if the grip had been saved, I was told it had not. The associate claimed he “tried,” but couldn’t save it because the grip was “old.” For the record, the grip was less than a year old and in excellent condition. I pointed out that the service receipt clearly shows I paid for the grip-saving service. Only then did he apologize and admit he hadn’t even noticed that detail. When I arrived later that afternoon to pick up the putter, a different (younger) associate gave me an entirely different excuse, saying that “90% of the time grips can’t be saved,” and essentially dismissed the concern. When I asked why no one contacted me before proceeding—especially after being paid to save the grip—he said there’s “no way to contact a customer beforehand” because they wouldn’t know until the grip is already damaged. That explanation is completely unacceptable and frankly, makes no sense. If that’s truly your process, then why even offer a $6 grip-saving service? What exactly am I paying for if no one follows through, and there’s zero communication or accountability? I specifically wanted to preserve my $60 grip, and instead, I got inconsistent stories and a lack of basic professionalism from your staff. This is not just disappointing—it’s unacceptable.
My husband and I made appointments for driver fittings for our anniversary. Dylann was THE best. He let us hang out and do our sessions together, answered all of our questions, and gave us feedback and advice on choosing the right clubs without any pressure to purchase. The drivers we tested led to 20 more yards distance for both of us! Awesome! Dylann was knowledgeable and helpful. We both left with a new driver and a set of irons for me. :) It was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend. It was fun and we are both excited to get put this Spring with our new clubs!
