Absolutely amazing lesson with John! Extremely knowledgeable and such a wonderful teacher. Tons of visual aids and drills to fix any kind of issue you might have. I felt instant improvements and my swing has never felt better. John is enthusiastic and excited for your progress which made the experience so enjoyable. I can’t wait to take more lessons and highly recommend it to anyone! 10/10!

John has completely revamped my full swing and the results have been all positive. My club speed, ball speed, ball flight, and distance have all noticeably improved. He’s great at explaining how both the body and the club should move throughout the swing, which has helped me understand my own swing better and start fixing things on my own between lessons. John uses a whiteboard to recap each session and follows up with a voiceover video that highlights what we worked on and what to focus on going forward — super helpful when practicing solo. So far we’ve covered my 7 iron, driver, and putting. I’m looking forward to continuing with chipping, short game, and whatever else I need. Highly recommend John if you're looking to improve your game.

I have been golfing for many years and through those years have built for myself a decent golf game. I had taken a hiatus from golf for 18 yrs and on my return noticed most of my game had disappeared. I took various lessons from various instructors, some very well-known while others less known but unfortunately none of them could get me back to my old days of decent golfing. There simply was an ingredient missing. This fall I met an individual who recommended Forest City Golf Academy, and its teacher John Timbrell. First off .... John is a great human being. He makes learning easy with his charm and charisma. Getting hi fives for making a great shot, who gets that excited from your progress??? John does!!! I can tell you this filters down to the student. He makes learning fun and exciting. It is like looking at the game for the first time again. He doesn't push brands, gear, balls clubs or his own agenda. What you get is raw down to the basic lessons. This was my missing ingredient. For example, I was hitting a seven iron approximately 145 yds, and after two lessons from John I left his simulator hitting a 7 iron 180 yds!!!!!! I know I will not hit this every time but now I realize the potential is there and that is so exciting. I look forward to many more lessons to see what kind of wonders await, like maybe a three-hundred-yard drive again. But I can tell you in my experience, the fundamentals are so very important. John worked with my natural abilities and made the best of them. You leave the lesson feeling like you have actually accomplished something and not confused with a system overload. To touch on his tools he uses. John has a full functioning simulator. The room is huge never leaving you feeling confined. I just swing away with so much comfort. He uses state of the art programs such as video swing analysis. He will video you and break down your swing from beginning to end. You will never learn as good as being able to see yourself in action. Launch monitors, projectors, top of the line driving mats all add in the experience. The thing I really appreciated was his analysis of your swing, he videos it, edits it and then attaches audio commentary pointing out the good the bad and the ugly of your swing. And in my case, there was some ugly. I give Forest City Golf Academy 5 stars and if I could, I would give John 6 stars. Thank you for reviving my golf game.
