Five Iron Golf

I’ve been a member here for a few months and would recommend it to anyone on the fence. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. I’ve been to several 5i locations in chicago and the Bucktown location on Elston is by far the best. The GOLFZON sims are great and the mechanical slope adjustment with multiple terrain pads is unmatched. I would love to see the other locations adopt this system over the current Trackman + stationary mats, I might actually visit them if that were the case!

If you are familiar with the previous golf sim at this location, I will focus on the differences. Parking is easier, no more app that you need to sign in under, there are designated spots now in the garage. The Sims got upgraded visuals with more upgrades in the works apparently. The new user interface, floor buttons, and ball loading mechanism is much improved. Other than that, the same configuration as before. All solid improvements. The membership structure is a little different, but with walk ons allowed, it may be slightly improved if not equal.

Had a swing evaluation with Patrick Malloy. He was a great instructor and teacher. He asked questions about the state of my game and after watching my swing, we were able to break down video analysis and identify areas of improvement. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am strongly considering continuing lessons with Patrick

Patrick was awesome to work with. The swing evaluation involved hitting a good chunk of shots with my swing as-is. Then we went over to the video analysis to compare my swing to some tour pros. After talking about where my swing is strong and needs improvement, we then did a couple drills to immediately improve. It was fun, engaging, and filled with new pieces of information. After just the swing eval, I’m already seeing big results in my game as I continue to practice. Definitely recommend Patrick for folks looking to get better!

Patrick is a fantastic coach! He was able to evaluate my current skill level, provide me with key areas to focus my practice on, and answer all of my questions on technique/approach. Looking forward to continuing my lessons with him!
