Golf Course Reviews "Fore" U Wicked Girls Golf traveled to Elbel Park Golf Course in South Bend, IN for a beautiful May Day of golf. Elbel Park is a short drive from downtown South Bend, an Eastern Daylight time zone. This is a city course, but don’t let that concern you. The natural beauty of the parkland setting embraces numerous nature areas, the Mud Lake wetlands, animal habitats and stunning terrain. Elbel Park is a full-service golf course, appealing to golfers of various skill levels. The tree-lined, bentgrass tees give way to the immaculately manicured fairways. You will find a driving range, putting and chipping area and full service clubhouse on site as well. We made reservations via a phone call asking for an 11am tee time for four with carts. Reservations were easy to make and there were no surprises when we arrived. The staff we encountered was very friendly and accommodating. They have a senior discount of $24 per person for 9 holes with a cart, so if you qualify, definitely ask for it. If you need any supplies, such as tees, balls or gloves, the clubhouse has a selection to choose from. The clubhouse offers food, both hot and cold, as well as a variety of beverages. You can even place your order from the sixth hole and it will be ready when you head to the back nine. Carts can be found just outside the clubhouse. They were clean and ready to go. We loved the carts. The brakes are automatic and there are no restrictors. (We are not a fan of restrictors) We saw a variety of wildlife and the surrounding waters were teeming with spring babies. There was a plethora of geese yet the goose droppings were practically nonexistent. The course is well laid out and marked. The forward tees for ladies are white at Elbel Park, and all were very easy to find. The tee boxes were well maintained and ball washers and trash cans were available at most. Kudos to Elbel Park, they have Port-a-potties on the course, so no running back to the clubhouse. For this particular outing we surprised Lori, one of our founding members, with a birthday party on the front nine. We decorated her cart, had boxed lunches on the course and topped off the celebration with dessert at the clubhouse. We felt comfortable being able to combine our love of golf with a birthday party. You couldn’t miss us, pink and purple streamers and all! And, we made sure we didn’t leave a mess. Located on the west side of South Bend, Elbel Park Golf Course is easily accessible by way of US 31 north. It’s an easy drive from downtown South Bend and close to Lake Michigan. This destination offers a good mix of many of our favorite things to truly make golf fun - a beautiful course, close to great dining and shopping in the South Bend area, and lots of laughs with friends. #WGG #wickedgirlsgolf

Simply put this is the best public golf course in the entire area of South Bend to Laporte. It is not Warren, but it’s pretty close. It rained the night before a little but it was still pretty dry all things considered. And it was still playable unlike any course. And scorable if you check your distances. Clubhouse/Staff: This is a very nice facility with lounge and deck seating to view the courses first tee box and 18 green. Phenomenal view. The carts are pretty fast so hang on! Jimmy in the clubhouse went above and beyond in making our day special. Setting us up with arrival times with the time zones differences depending on where you stay to lining you up for what to expect overall. Super friendly and just a great guy that made us enjoy the over all experience so much more. Especially after the Irish win! 🍀☘️☘️🍀☘️🍀☘️🍀☘️🍀 The Course: The tee boxes and greens are the best you’ll play anywhere. All were in immaculate shape. The fairways are so pristine you have to make sure you hit your drives or tee shots on shorter holes on the them each time so you can play from them. If that means leaving driver in the bag- like on 18- do it. The layout is set up with some great holes mixed in with some dog legs that make you play smart. But you are never in so much trouble you can’t make up for it. The par threes are long. Didn’t hit one less than an 8 iron for me which is 145-150. And I don’t recall many bunkers or trouble areas overall. No water shots to hit over and no waste land areas to hit over either. Lots of rolling terrain and spectacular views and surrounding wooded areas. Flat out this course is in phenomenal shape and I’d highly recommend it if you can’t play Warren. Even if you stay outside of South Bend- come play here. You will not be disappointed!
