Carriage Greens Country Club

Came with no expectations but left with lasting impression. Fairways where in perfect shape, Greens were extremely well cared for, no signs of ball marks or disease spongy soft feel, like walking on padded carpet. T boxes were also also in great shape. Ownership is doing a great job with their bar interiors. All new paint and fixtures. Well done ! I'll be back

If you’re into terrible golf experiences, Carriage Greens, Darien, Illinois might just be your dream come true. The round starts off bad and somehow keeps getting worse. By hole 16, you’re greeted with what can only be described as a charred, melted porta potty, still standing like a post-apocalyptic monument. The smell? A noxious blend of chemical fire and raw sewage that could knock a buzzard off a manure truck. It’s been there so long it might qualify for a historical landmark. But wait — it gets better. Before you even tee off, you’ll likely be greeted by a very angry old man at the ranger station whose full-time job seems to be screaming at golfers like it’s Marine boot camp. This guy was absolutely unhinged — pacing, pointing, shouting like someone parked in his spot back in 1973 and he’s still not over it. Unless you enjoy being berated by a grumpy warlord, gagging next to a scorched porta john, and hacking through crabgrass, I’d strongly recommend you book somewhere else. I still kind of had fun.

The owner/ Ranger who runs this place is an absolute joke. I understand people have bad days but seeing the latest reviews now I’m just generally concerned for the community. I was putting on hole 9 close to the turn and saw a young group of men just absolutely getting BERATEd with what seemed like racial remarks and repeatedly being accused of not paying. They demanded to see their reciepts which they showed and then then the ranger said “Either show me you dont have outside liquor or I’m gonna go through your bags myself and ill be kicking you out and calling the police. It was a bit busy so a hole was jammed up and these gentlemen were very nice to me around hole 7 offered to let us play through definietly werent drinking from what i saw they didnt even look old Enough to be. He yelled at them for bringing water bottles and said no outside beverages allowed. A water bottle? The kids left at the turn and honestly at that point I refused to play the rest of the back 9. Was absoluetely embarassing the way they treated those young men. When leaving i entered the club house and were greeted with a lady asking me “what do you want im busy im gonna need a second” will never return and please don’t bother going here i wont even get into the price and conditions of the course.
