Had a great experience working with Scott and his team. I went for a lesson and soon realized my callaway clubs needed an inch of extensions. Scott made the process very efficient and affordable. I submitted my clubs to be extended and they were ready within 2 days!! Very pleased!

Scott Barla is a gifted teacher, as evidenced by his recent acknowledgement by Golf Digest Magazine (Top Teacher in Indiana). Barla Golf Academy is very well equipped to meet your every need - High Tech Simulators to help analyze your swing, and to professionally fit you with the best equipment for your game. With lessons from Scott, you don’t have to try to remember everything he’s teaching you because within 24-48 hours after lessons, he’ll send you several videos; one of you recapping your main takeaways from the lesson, and two or three more with different angles of your swing (visually depicting what you’re doing right and/or wrong), along with reminders of what to work on between lessons. Scott has proven to me he has a keen eye and a special ability to diagnose the problems with my swing and to help me understand the way(s) to correct them. I’ve now had experience with his individual lessons, his club fittings, and buying equipment/merchandise and I’ve been very satisfied with each and every service provided. Scott was recommended to me by a friend of mine and, based on my own experience, I can enthusiastically recommend him to anyone wishing to improve their golf game.

A True Gift to Veterans As a young military veteran, transitioning back to civilian life hasn't always been easy—but finding places and people who truly support vets has made all the difference. Barla Golf Academy is one of those rare places. I had the opportunity to take part in their free golf lessons for veterans program, and I can honestly say it was one of the most positive and healing experiences I’ve had since leaving the service. The atmosphere was welcoming, the instruction was top-tier, and most importantly, it felt like I was part of a community again. What stood out even more was the sincerity of the Academy’s owner and couches. They are not just offering free lessons as a checkbox or PR move—They genuinely cares about helping veterans reconnect, heal, and grow through the game of golf. Even the owner Scott took the time to get to know me personally, offered encouragement throughout the process, and even helped me pick out my very first set of clubs, which I proudly purchased after completing the program. Golf has now become more than just a sport to me—it’s a new passion, a mental reset, and a way to stay connected with others who understand the journey. I can’t thank Barla Golf Academy enough for what they do, especially for veterans.
