A large golf complex in Rockford that combines a retail superstore with a driving range featuring Trackman technology. This allows for both serious practice with detailed ball data and game-based entertainment. The facility includes covered and heated tees for year-round use and also houses a full-service restaurant and bar, Garrett's, with a patio overlooking the range.

Visited Golf Shack to see if I could improve on my driver which is several generations old. Very grateful to Frank who helped me tinker with new drivers and compare them with my own. He even helped me tweak the setup on my current driver to maximize launch and spin rate. At the end of the day nothing was a big enough improvement to justify buying a new one. Great respect to a club fitter who is not just trying to sell you clubs, but is there to help you find the right fit to get the most out of your game. I'll definitely be back when it is time for new clubs. Thank you Frank!

Went in to purchase a driver, asked if they had a demo of two clubs. Was told no they were last years clubs so they did not have. I had to the ask if I could hit the the two I selected. Was told I guess we can tape them. They proceed to wrap the entire clubs heads in clear packing tape, not very smoothly, edges and raised tape on face of clubs.Told me it would not effect the ball flight. Went to bay to wait for clubs, they did not bring them just said tape is done,walked back to counter. Got back to they bay still no one came out behind counter, no balls available had to go back and ask, kid came over found some tossed at my feet said here you go. No assistance with setting up launch monitor did it my self. Kid stood just behind me I almost hit him with first practice swing. No other help at all while hitting, 4 sales people in shop maybe two other customers. Decided to purchase one, "manager"offered no assistance, kid started to ring me up and said need to get head cover and walked away "manager" just stood there, another person came over finished payment gave receipt. Kid came back with head cover I asked for the adjustment tool,"manager" said they don't come with them anymore. Took club after kid struggled to put head cover on. No one said thank you or asked if there was anything else I needed. Worst experience I have had. Spent $400, will be driving into Chicago area for future golf purchases.

Very disappointed. Called 2 days prior and asked if anyone would be available for a driver fitting on Saturday morning. I was told yes someone would be available and no need to set a time. Stopped in today and only had 2 people working and the one that greeted me was his first day. So no one there to assist. Guess I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. I will definitely be telling all my golfing buddies to avoid this place.

The more I’ve thought about this issue, the more I’ve fumed and decided to post this review….I purchased (2) gift certificates for lessons in the total amount of $260 a couple years ago. I just recently went to use the certificates on a new Driver rather than lessons. I was told "Sorry" the golf trainer that was there at the time of purchase was let go and the certificates could not be used. I was a bit taken back as I paid the money directly to Golf Shack as gift certificates, not to the trainer and had the receipts to show. I was extremely disappointed with the Manager response, which was basically too bad, so sad ! Even if I couldn't use the dollars against product, they didn't even as much as offer a different trainer or anything at all as I was told that they had paid the previous trainer (even though he had not given the lessons) - Poor Policy on their part and I'm the one that is out money. I have purchased many items from Golf Shack over the years and for them not to stand behind a $260 purchase and try to make it right is beyond me!! The two people behind the counter apologized and said there was nothing they could do. Is this the Customer Service model Golf Shack is now applying? Very disappointing!
